How I ended up in Slovakia

I guess this next story is about how plans don’t always go the way they were supposed to go. That being said, I am still having the time of my life and still feel like everything happens for a reason and I am in Slovakia right now for a specific reason and feel like it was meant to be.

So I left you guys off on my last update where I was posting an update from my 24 hour bus ride to Budapest. Not a problem in the world no issues insight. 7 hours into the bus ride I look at my watch and noticed we were 1 hour behind schedule. I look up and start thinking to myself that is strange I have a transfer that leaves 40 minutes after this bus is supposed to arrive in Bologna, where ever that is. You see I bought this ticket through Baltour and they set up both buses for me so I get off one and go onto another one of their buses. Confused, I get up and walk up to the driver and say hey I have a transfer from you guys and if we are an hour behind schedule that bus will leave. He responds saying no don’t worry they always wait. Well that’s great because …”plans always go the way they are supposed to”. I responded saying no that’s not how it works can you call them and tell them to wait. This time they, yes there are two drivers one actually driving and another resting, both look at me and again say no you are fine they always wait. Obviously I was getting nowhere with these clowns. So I go back and sit down in my seat. We get to the station an hour late. I get off and say ok so where is my bus Mr. “They always wait”. After a long pause he responds it appears it left without you. Faaaaaaantastic!

The Amalfi Coast

I look out over the sunset on my final day on the Amalfi coast and am at complete peace. I see the Capri island out in the distance, I see Sorento out next to the island, I see flashes of memories that will last a lifetime from this coast of Italy. I was meant to be here, on this mountain top watching this sunset tonight. Every moment that led up to this final day happened for reason and I could not be happier. In life you are given choices. These choices end up defining who you are as a person. If you don’t take time finding out who you are then these choices tend to get made up for you. People tend to go through the motions of what they should do instead of what they want to do. Im not going to sit here and convince anyone to take risks and do what makes them happy in life. I am just going to be an example of what it is like when you make the choices in life that you want to do. If you want something bad enough it will happen so don’t doubt yourself. You will end up taking the risks needed if you truly want it bad enough. I saw a photo of the Amalfi coast and wanted to be there so bad that i figured out how to get myself there.

There is one experience on the Amalfi coast that I will never forget. Paese Furore. Paese Furore is a beach that has a massive 100 foot bridge over the water next to the beach. Here is a photo I took of Paese Furore on the mountain top behind the beach.

When I got there I knew within just a few seconds that I wanted to jump the bridge. The highest I had cliff jumped before was about 40 feet. This was more than double that. At this height I have bungee jumped over water before. I spark up a quick conversation with some locals at the bottom and ask them if they can record me jumping the bridge. They look at me in shock that I even considered it. After reassuring them that I was serious I gave them my phone to start recording on Snapchat. As I walk up the staircase to the top of the bridge a girl realizes what I am doing and says you can’t break the water from that height. I don’t respond and continue up. I get to the very top and look down into the water below and the people look like tiny ants. After a few seconds I take a few steps back and take a moment to myself. In my head I know that the second I put my body over the guard rail I have to be 100% committed. Choices. My next choice defines who I am as a person. I put one leg over the guard rail. Then the other. I am now ready to step off. In the distance I can hear people screaming. I don’t hesitate. I simply take a deep breath and step off. Before I know it I am swimming up to the surface of the water. I reach the surface and throw one fist up in the air and scream with joy. All of a sudden I hear everyone on the beach cheering and clapping. This is the craziest thing I have done so far in my life and I will always look back on this and smile.

Open Mindness is Key

Getting lost in Europe. Wait… Finding myself in Europe. Yeah that sounds better. I went from having one of the most incredible trips of my life in South France to having yet another incredible trip in Amsterdam. I went to Amsterdam to go to the last Sensation White but quickly discovered how fun of a city Amsterdam is. Everyone should visit Amsterdam once in their life. My adventures around the city quickly went by in the blink of an eye. Before I knew it I was on a bus to London. Wake up again and we are at the French boarder entering the United Kingdom when French Police come onto the bus. My friend and I get picked out of the group and were quickly questioned. For some strange reason they thought that we had drugs on us. Strange. So there I was in a french holding take getting strip searched. Yeah got fully naked in front of two french officers. After they find nothing on us we go back into another room where 8 officers have us sign a document saying that they found no drugs on us and we were free to go. As we are leaving the main officer says “Good Game”… Lucky for us our bus waited for us to get violated and we were on our way to London.

We finally get to London and I quickly order us an Uber. The Uber arrives and the driver helps load our bags in the back. I then go to what should have been the passenger seat and open the door about to get in. A “passenger” that was already in the shared Uber shrieks like I am about to steal a car. I quickly realize I am about to sit in the driver seat. Awkward… We ended up having the coolest Airbnb host ever! She even had a house party and we were loving it haha. We wandered the streets of London during our week there and found some really great spots. While we were on the Metro back to our Airbnb we sparked up a conversation with a girl at the train stop and she recommended we check out a place called Richmond park. Two hours later I am feeding a deer a branch from a tree. Proof below. If I were to have looked at her and said yeah sure maybe we can go check it out tomorrow and end up not going I would have missed out on such a magical experience. Open Mindness is Key.

Sitting in the beifahrer seat

I am currently on a road in South France sitting in the “beifahrer seat” of a bright red Volkswagon van. In English beifahrer means the co driver seat or shotgun. That being said, I will have a couple of hours to get together all my thoughts and experiences over the past month, so get comfortable this might take a while. I left Colombia a few weeks early to help out a friend of mine in Fort Lauderdale. He has a pretty serious weight problem and I offered to come work with him and get his diet fixed and get him on a routine at the gym. I soon found out that it is suuuuper hard to help promote change in someones life if they are not truly ready for it. I still tried non the less and spent extra time finalizing my plans for EDC Las Vegas.

EDC Las Vegas. Wow. It all started when I was on a beach in Hawaii talking with friends from around the world. I decided to rent out a mansion for the week and have all my friends stay. It turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life. I brought together over 25 people from all around the world and was also able to bring my little brother to his first EDC.
